Any student can study abroad, but most programs have a GPA requirement (2.0 or higher), and the better your GPA, the better your chances of getting into the program

You may be asked to provide some supporting documentation as part of your application. Once again, requirements vary depending on the country and university, but international students are often asked to provide the following:

• Passport photos for identification
• A statement of purpose
• CV/résumé
• Academic references/ letters of recommendation
• Certificate and transcripts of your secondary education
• Proof of English-language proficiency (e.g. a TOEFL/IELTS certificate, for schools in English-speaking countries), or other language test
• Admissions test results (e.g. GMAT/GRE results, for graduate programs)

Not at all. You can study abroad if you only know English, and you won’t be limited to English-speaking countries like England or Australia, either. While some programs have a language prerequisite or only offer courses in the host country’s language, there are study abroad programs available in English all over the world. If you do end up in a non-English speaking county, you will most likely pick up parts of the language.

Expenses include tuition, housing, utilitites and meals. You’ll pay tuition fees and housing if you choose to stay at the university at which you’re studying and that cost will vary (based on the course you pick, proximity to the university, self-catering or catered). The cost of living will also vary depending on the country and city where you’re going.

Most countries allow you to work about 20 hours per week. However, some countries may not.

There are various kinds of housing facilities available. You can choose to stay in the university dorm or rent out apartments right outside the university premises. Moreover, you can also stay with your host families.

There are a limited number of scholarships and bursaries available for international students. The amount varies by level of study and by institution. Scholarships are competitive and you need to demonstrate exceptional academic achievements. Governments and other organizations also provide a number of scholarships and awards to help international students study overseas.
